INTRODUCING & ANALYSIS | TISSOT
Open mechanics, hand winding and a 44mm case: the Damian Lillard collaboration takes the PRX from wrist to pocket.
A sports-star collaboration need not stop at a new colour and a signature. With the PRX Skeleton Damian Lillard Special Edition, Tissot brings an exposed movement, two straps and a chain-equipped carrier into the same package. It is a recognisable PRX outline with a different proposition for the person wearing it.
The interesting development is the combination of hand winding and an alternative way of carrying the watch. One encourages interaction with the mechanics; the other gives this sporting silhouette an unexpectedly different setting.

A familiar case with a larger presence
The 316L stainless-steel case measures 44mm across and 11.2mm thick. Sapphire crystal has an anti-reflective coating, the back is transparent and water resistance is rated at 10 bar, or 100 metres. The official side photograph also shows the Dame Time engraving on the case flank.
The continuous visual line between case and strap remains part of the PRX identity, but the openworked face moves the mechanics into the foreground. At this size, a wrist fitting matters more than a judgement based on photographs: diameter alone cannot establish comfort or how the case sits.

Burgundy frames the mechanics
Burgundy elements give the exposed architecture a defined border. Central hands indicate hours and minutes, while small seconds at nine o’clock uses a gold-coloured hand inspired by Lillard’s monogram, inside a ring bearing the Dame Time inscription. Tissot specifies Super-LumiNova on the hands.
The collaboration is therefore expressed through several visual details, rather than a name alone. The trade-off is a busier face. That is an observation about the design in official images, not a tested verdict on real-world legibility.
A hand-wound movement, visible from both sides
Tissot describes a Swiss mechanical, manually wound movement with a power reserve of up to 52 hours. The transparent back exposes the mechanism beneath Lillard’s signature on the glass. The official specification page consulted does not name the calibre, so we do not assign it an unconfirmed designation or frequency.
For a collector, hand winding adds a deliberate point of contact. Running the watch becomes an act of participation, rather than an invisible process behind a closed dial. It does not, on its own, establish superior accuracy or a particular finishing standard; the attraction here is the visible construction and ownership experience.

More than an extra strap
The set includes a burgundy rubber strap with a pin buckle and a matching leather strap with a folding clasp and pushers. A quick-change system allows tool-free swaps. Tissot’s campaign connects the rubber pattern to the milk crates used as makeshift basketball hoops during Lillard’s childhood.
The stronger talking point is the leather carrier and chain. After removing the strap, the watch case can be inserted into the carrier and worn in a pocket or attached to an accessory. This is not an added mechanical complication. It is another use for the same watch, and, in our view, the release’s most persuasive idea: a change in interaction rather than decoration alone.

The Malichus perspective
This edition makes most sense for someone who enjoys exposed mechanics and wants a clearly identifiable sporting collaboration. A buyer looking for a quiet everyday watch may find the size and open face less suitable. Neither preference is inherently better; this PRX simply reads more as a statement piece than a neutral choice for every occasion.
One practical question belongs alongside the specifications: would you actually use the pocket carrier? If so, it contributes to the experience. If it will remain in the box, the buying decision should rest primarily on the watch as it will be worn on the wrist.
